Top Biden Border Officials Tied To Far-Left Immigration Advocacy

President Joe Biden’s hiring decisions explain a lot about America’s current border situation.

The scoop: At least three top immigration officials under President Joe Biden hold radical views on border enforcement or are tied to far-left pro-immigrant groups, according to recent reports documenting their past statements and activities. Two hold influential positions in the Department of Homeland Security’s Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS); the other serves as a White House immigration adviser.

Weakening law enforcement: The civil rights officer wants to reduce detentions for illegal immigrants and is against deporting convicted felons. The USCIS policy and strategy chief previously advocated for abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and defunding Customs and Border Protection, which includes Border Patrol. She also worked for a group that worked to end immigration detention. The White House adviser also worked with several anti-ICE groups that advocated for abolishing the agency.

“Immigrants’ rights”: The USCIS official has helped the Biden administration with expanding parole for migrants from Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti, Venezuela, and Ukraine. The civil rights officer once gave a university lecture on “racism in U.S. immigration law and policy,” wants driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants, and has said that border enforcement shouldn’t focus on “criminality” as much as “equities.”

Why it matters: The Biden administration has allowed unprecedented rates of illegal immigration to the country, costing lives and taxpayer dollars. The president's hiring decisions reaffirm the fact that this situation, to some extent, is by design. Republicans are trying to impeach Biden’s Homeland Security secretary for his handling of the border crisis.
