Biden’s Federal Agency Vote Farming Effort

The Biden administration is targeting Democrat-friendly groups with voter registration initiatives.

What’s happening: The Biden administration is using non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and leveraging federal funds to register voters from favorable demographics.

  • Biden’s directive: Under Executive Order 14019, heads of executive agencies are ordered to “evaluate ways in which the agency can…promote voter registration and voter participation.”

Getting help: The executive order allows the Biden administration to expand voter rolls. The Biden administration also plans to offer work-study grants for students who help register voters and is partnering with private organizations to do the same.

  • No transparency: The Biden administration has refused to reveal the private organizations it partners with and even used attorneys from the White House and Justice Department to prevent releasing that information.

Farming everywhere: The U.S. Marshals have re-negotiated over 900 prison contracts to enable inmate registration and mail-in voting. The Department of Health and Human Services has been directed to include voter registration with Obamacare applications, the Education Department with federal student loan applications, and the Treasury Department to register low-income tax clinic clients.

  • Voting patterns: Convicted felons and college students overwhelmingly vote Democrat, as do Americans who support Obamacare.

Why it matters: With the manpower and funding of the federal government and numerous NGOs on their side, Democrats have left Republican registration efforts outclassed in the face of “unlimited funding and resources and the reach of the federal government.”

  • Gov. power: For Republicans like Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC), the Democratic Party has now been empowered to use “official resources to advance partisan politics.”
