WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

🕵️ Gabbard exposed Obama's anti-Trump conspiracy. DNI Tulsi Gabbard revealed over 100 declassified documents showing former President Barack Obama directed intelligence officials to manufacture evidence of Russian election interference weeks before leaving office. The documents contradict previous assessments that Russia lacked the intent or capability to influence the 2016 election. Gabbard called it a "years-long coup" designed to undermine Trump's presidency.
🏛️ House GOP to revive a hardline immigration bill. House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) plans to bring his sweeping 2023 immigration overhaul to a vote. The bill would slash legal immigration through asylum limits and mandatory E-Verify, while mandating a minimum of 22,000 border agents. The bill would cut 2033 population estimates by around 600,000 people.
🇸🇾 Syrian forces massacre Druze civilians. At least 516 people have died in four days in Syria's Sweida province, including around 100 Druze civilians executed by government forces. Videos depicted brutal violence, including Syrian soldiers shooting at unarmed men as they are forced to jump to their deaths from a balcony. This violence undermines the Western world’s, including the US’, normalization with Syria’s new government.
🇮🇱 Huckabee warned Israel over Christian restrictions. US Ambassador Mike Huckabee warned Israel could face reciprocal visa limits if it keeps denying entry to various Christian organizations. The ambassador suggested it would be "unfortunate" to publicly disclose Israel's "harassment" and "negative stance" toward Christians. This underscores growing tension between Israel’s visa policies and its core evangelical supporters in the US.

Pet insurance could help you offset rising veterinary costs
Veterinarians nationwide reported that corporate managers pushed clinics to focus on profit, with vets often paid based on revenue. This encouraged them to see more pets, order more tests, and upsell services, creating a growing burden for uninsured pet owners. Pet insurance could help you offset some of these rising costs, with some providing up to 90% reimbursement.

Young Muslim socialist could be Minneapolis’ next mayor

_WHAT’S HAPPENING_
Minnesota State Senator Omar Fateh, a democratic socialist, clinched the official endorsement of the state’s Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party in the race for Minneapolis mayor.
The endorsement, announced Saturday night, followed a chaotic party convention where Fateh won over 60 percent of delegate support, defeating incumbent Democrat Mayor Jacob Frey.
_THE FACTS_
The DFL endorsement came after a chaotic convention where Frey supporters walked out in protest, leaving mostly Fateh supporters left for the vote.
This endorsement is important because it provides progressive credibility and exclusive access to the party’s voter database.
Frey’s campaign has vowed to appeal the decision, citing problems with the voting process during the convention.
Frey’s tenure included the 2020 BLM riots following George Floyd's death; the riots cost the city approximately $55 million in damages.
Fateh, born in Washington, DC to Somali immigrants, won his state Senate seat in 2020.
His platform includes rent stabilization to take on “price gouging” and diverting resources away from law enforcement to “non-police responders.”
Fateh has vowed to prohibit Minneapolis police from cooperating with ICE under any circumstances.
A video from 2023 shows Fateh suggesting his GOP colleagues were akin to white supremacists who represent the nation’s "greatest domestic threat."
However, Jacob Frey previously won the general elections in 2017 and 2021 without the DFL’s endorsement.
