Illegal Immigrant Killer Escapes PA Prison, Evades Capture For 13 Days

First, he was a “gotaway” at the U.S. border. Then, he was on the run from Pennsylvania police.

What’s happening: Authorities spent nearly two weeks searching for Danelo Cavalcante, an “extremely dangerous” murderer and illegal immigrant who escaped prison on August 31, in Chester County, Pennsylvania, before capturing him this morning. Schools had shut down, police warned people in the area to stay indoors, and the FBI and Border Patrol were involved in the search.

  • What he did: Cavalcante fled to the U.S. from Brazil, where he was already wanted for homicide, illegally entering on an unknown date. He had recently been sentenced to life in prison for stabbing his girlfriend to death in front of her children after she threatened to turn him in.

Zoom out: Cavalcante is just one of hundreds of thousands who have illegally entered the U.S. with no screening by law enforcement. Under President Joe Biden, that number is unusually high at 1.5 million. Adding to the crisis, Biden’s border officials knowingly release criminals by the hundreds.

  • Another tragic case: Earlier this year in Texas, an illegal immigrant who was deported four times killed four adults and a 9-year-old.

Media bias: Though it was known long before his escape from prison, several news articles and broadcasts don’t mention that Cavalcante is an illegal immigrant, instead describing him as a “fugitive” or “escaped convict.” Legacy media insist on treating this like any other crime story, despite its ties to a larger issue relevant to the public.
