🔴 Redshift: GOP Defunds Public Media
Also, Trump sues The Wall Street Journal

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

⚖️ President Trump sued Murdoch and WSJ for $10 billion. The suit claims a Wall Street Journal article falsely asserted that Donald Trump sent Jeffrey Epstein a "bawdy" 2003 birthday letter with a "hand-drawn naked woman,” with such messages as "Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.” Trump critics believe the card proves he had a close relationship with Epstein. The president called the story a smear and is demanding Rupert Murdoch — who owns the WSJ — testify.
📉 Musk's third party appears dead on arrival. CNN data analyst Harry Enten revealed that Elon Musk's net favorable rating has plummeted 66 points since 2016. His GOP favorability crashed 55 points after announcing his third-party plans, with only 25 percent of Americans supporting the venture. The “fiscally conservative, socially liberal” agenda seems to resonate with few Americans.
⛪ Israeli strike on Gaza's Holy Family Catholic Church splits conservatives. The only Catholic Church in Gaza was struck by an Israeli tank shell, killing three and wounding ten. The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles, a strong Israel supporter, recently said, “You’re losing me,” condemning the targeting of Christian churches, whether it was deliberate or not. Meanwhile, Babylon Bee editor Joel Berry noted that Gaza’s ~200 Catholics “all support Hamas.”
🎬 Trump assassination attempt is becoming a movie. Journalist Salena Zito, who witnessed the Butler shooting and is very close to President Trump, has teamed with Pensé Productions to adapt her new book into a film. The movie will cover the July 13, 2024 assassination attempt that killed supporter Corey Comperatore and wounded Trump's ear. This is an important shift in the culture, given Hollywood’s open disdain for Trump.
