Military-Aged Men Are Crossing The Border

What’s happening: The Biden administration’s border crisis shows signs of worsening. In 2023, a record 520,000 migrants crossed the Darién Gap — a major transit route for illegal migration. Many of those migrants are military-age males.

What’s the Darién Gap? The famously difficult Darién Gap refers to a 100-mile interruption in the Pan-American highway stretching through Colombia and Panama. In recent years, it has become a hub for illegal migration into the U.S. — a last resort for migrants who cannot enter via legal channels.

Emerging trends: While most migrants moving through the Darién Gap are from the Caribbean islands and South America, a rising number come from the Middle East and Asia. 25,565 Chinese nationals crossed in 2023, many of whom are unattached to family groups in the United States.

Many are young males: A recently released video depicts hundreds of young Chinese men crossing through Panama toward the U.S.

  • The media won’t report this: Legacy Media accused Donald Trump of espousing “conspiracy theories” for suggesting a connection between the CCP and the influx of single male Chinese nationals into the U.S.

Why it matters: President Joe Biden’s lax U.S border policies weakened national security by allowing entry of hundreds of thousands of undocumented migrants from countries hostile to the U.S.

  • Warnings of emerging violence: On Jan. 17, ex-FBI and Homeland Security officials warned Congress of the emerging threat of potential terrorism sparked by the border crisis, calling the risk of an Oct. 7 level attack a “distinct possibility.”
