Starbucks CEO Says Democrats Have Left Their Cities To Ruin, Closes 16 Locations

CEO of Starbucks and long-time Democrat, Howard Schultz

CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz, said that major U.S. cities ignore and even enable crime spikes.

He commented after Starbucks announced the closure of 16 profitable locations in five progressive cities because of security concerns. Schultz suggested that more closures and new safety measures will likely be necessary due to the overall decline of law and order.

“I must say, in my view at the local, state, and federal level, these governments across the country and leaders, mayors and governors, city councils have abdicated their responsibility in fighting crime and addressing mental health,” Schultz stated.

He’s right. Progressive criminal reform fuels crime in Democrat-run cities as city prosecutors focus on reducing incarceration and reforming policing rather than stopping crime. From 2019 to 2020, America’s murder rate increased by 30%, followed by another surge in 2021.

  • George Soros groups spent $40 million to elect 75 progressive social justice prosecutors across the country—causing increased crime with less imprisonment in those cities.

There’s good news—some cities have had enough. Sixty percent of San Franciscans just recalled their progressive district attorney and replaced them with someone serious about crime.
