Wuhan COVID Leak Was Part of a U.S. Intelligence Operation, U.S. Government Insider Claims

What happened: Dr. Andrew Huff, a Ph.D. scientist and the former vice president of EcoHealth Alliance, worked with the Wuhan Lab in China and had top-secret security clearance with the U.S. government. In a new book, he claims the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus was man-made and likely part of a U.S. military intelligence operation.

Why it matters: Both America and China still officially claim the virus that caused the pandemic emerged naturally. Though outside investigations have proven the lab-leak theory as the most likely, Dr. Huff is the first U.S. government insider to corroborate these claims. And he goes even further than just the lab-leak theory.

What he claims: EcoHealth Alliance, the U.S. company that partnered with China in Wuhan, was working with the CIA as part of a military intelligence operation to spy on China’s bioweapons program. Huff says the U.S. program could have purposefully sabotaged China’s research with the lab leak. He adds that the risks and lack of precautions with the Wuhan research were well-known in the U.S.

Targeted by the government: Huff says that after he went public with these claims, he was harassed by the FBI and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer through the state police department. He had even caught them breaking into his house.
