Britain’s Anti-Immigration Right Backs Down

British political leader Nigel Farage got his start in politics with his ultimately successful campaign for Britain to leave the European Union, known as Brexit. Now, as leader of the populist-right Reform UK party, he’s publicly turning his attention to another topic: immigration.

Farage made waves earlier this week when he announced that, if Reform UK wins power in the next election, he plans on carrying out “mass deportations.” His move came amid rising anger in Britain over a mass influx of illegal migrants.

However, he has already walked back some of his plans.
