The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revised its language on the potential link between vaccines and autism at the direction of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The agency removed its longstanding blanket claim that “vaccines do not cause autism,” now stating that a connection has not been conclusively ruled out and that some supporting studies have been overlooked. Kennedy defended the change, saying the prior statement was “not supported by science.”
