WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

📉 Confidence in higher education plummets. A new Gallup poll shows just 38 percent of Americans have strong confidence in colleges, down from 42 percent last year. 31 percent cite partisan indoctrination as their top complaint, 30 percent point to sky-high costs, and 25 percent say schools fail to prepare students for real jobs.
💸 New York's millionaire exodus cost it $11B. A new study reveals New York's share of millionaires fell from 12.7 percent to 8.7 percent between 2010 and 2022. Had the state kept pace, it would have collected $10.7B more in 2022 alone. Socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani's (D) "tax the rich" agenda has business leaders warning the bleeding will only accelerate.
🚫 Hochul signs the nation's first data center moratorium. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) issued an executive order halting permits for large data centers for one year, citing strain on the electrical grid and rising utility bills.
