WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

🤝 Trump hosts back-to-back meetings with Netanyahu and Zelensky. The Israeli and Ukrainian leaders visited the White House Tuesday, with Ukraine seeking more firepower for air defenses and Israel's PM working to repair a strained relationship. Zelensky secured a future meeting with Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff in Ukraine, while Netanyahu's meeting covered Iran and potential Abraham Accords expansion.
🇨🇳 Trump ramps up anti-China spending. The Trump administration notified Congress of a $175.8 million initiative to counter Chinese influence in Central America and the Caribbean. The funds will be used to replace undersea telecommunications cables as Beijing rapidly expands its state media operations and technological development.
📊 Liberal deportation data chief exits DHS with a bang. Marc Rosenblum, former executive director of the Office of Homeland Security Statistics, announced his departure, citing Trump’s "war on facts." His exit comes as the Oversight Project pursues a lawsuit demanding DHS release actual deportation numbers, raising questions about what data the office was actually tracking.
🛒 NYC business coalition sues Mamdani over taxpayer-funded grocery stores. A coalition representing 50 chambers of commerce voted to file suit against Mayor Zohran Mamdani's (D) $70 million plan for city-run supermarkets offering 30 percent discounts. Business owners fear the rent-free municipal stores will destroy their businesses.
Two interesting things to note about the Trump-Zelensky meeting. First, Zelensky wore a suit, which was a big sticking point for Trump after their explosive meeting last year. Second, most of Trump’s top officials were present…except for JD Vance. — Brandon
