🕊 Israel agreed to a ceasefire with Hezbollah. The Israeli security cabinet approved a 60-day ceasefire requiring both the IDF and Hezbollah to withdraw from southern Lebanon, with a US-led five-nation committee overseeing the process. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that Israel retains the right to retaliate against any violations, emphasizing readiness to strike in response to new threats or attacks.
🛒 Walmart and other retailers are rolling back their DEI policies. Walmart announced changes to its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, including removing inappropriate products marketed to children and ending its Racial Equity Center program. The retailer joins Ford, John Deere, and others in distancing from DEI policies, signaling a broader shift in corporate America.
🇲🇽 Mexican president warned of retaliatory tariffs. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum criticized President-elect Trump’s proposed 25 percent tariffs on Mexican goods, and floated the idea of pushing back with tariffs of their own against the US. At the same time, Shinebaum said that the massive migrant caravan headed for the US border “will no longer reach the border” — an apparent concession to Trump.
💵 Harris donated $500K to Al Sharpton’s non-profit before a glowing interview. Kamala Harris’ campaign gave $500,000 to Al Sharpton’s National Action Network weeks before he conducted a flattering MSNBC interview. Sharpton failed to disclose the donation, raising questions about conflicts of interest given his controversial history and lucrative ties to his non-profit.
