WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

🎯 AOC suggests impeaching Trump over Iran strikes. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and other Democrats called for impeaching President Trump after he ordered strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities without Congressional authorization. The congresswoman asserted that Trump "impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations," while Rep. Sean Casten (D-IL) called it an "unambiguous impeachable offense." However, President Obama attacked Libya, Syria, Pakistan, and Yemen without Congressional approval, yet Democrats never called for his impeachment.

🥊 Trump vows to unseat Thomas Massie. President Trump declared Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is "not MAGA" and vowed to campaign against him in his 2026 primary. The attack followed Massie’s criticism of the recent Iran strikes as "unconstitutional" because Congress did not first authorize them. Thomas Massie is one of the few libertarians in Congress pushing back on Trump’s agenda — and Trump likely sees him as a threat to swaying the MAGA base off course.

⚖️ Judge frees detained Columbia student activist. A federal judge mandated the release of Mahmoud Khalil, the pro-Palestinian activist from Columbia University, who was detained for more than three months. The judge noted it was "highly, highly unusual" for the government to seek his detention, given Khalil was neither a flight risk nor a danger. The judge’s argument is that the Trump administration was using immigration charges to punish Khalil for his political speech.

⚠️ DHS issues threat alert after Iran strikes. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warned of a "heightened threat environment" in the United States following the attack on Iran. DHS pointed to the likelihood of low-level cyberattacks by pro-Iranian “hacktivists” and potential violence from domestic extremists. This warning formalizes the domestic risks of the administration's new, more aggressive posture and signals the government is bracing for asymmetric retaliation on US soil.

INSIDER EXCLUSIVE

How Israel's Mossad revolutionized warfare

Much attention has been paid to the precision of Israel’s decapitation strike on the Iranian military. These strikes were so precise that missiles were fired directly into the bedrooms of top military officials.

But equally impressive have been the Jewish state’s more clandestine efforts…

THE MAIN STORY

Trump floats regime change following Iran strikes

WHAT’S HAPPENING_

President Donald Trump ordered a military strike on Iran’s nuclear program on Saturday, targeting three major enrichment sites — Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

The operation, codenamed "Midnight Hammer," was executed with total secrecy and caught both Iran and the world off guard. Trump declared the mission a complete success, claiming the facilities were “completely and totally obliterated.”

Tehran has condemned the strikes while continuing to strike Israel, and is weighing its response to the United States, claiming that American troops in the region are a target. To cajole Iran into diplomacy, Trump floated the idea of regime change, calling to “Make Iran Great Again.”

_THE FACTS_

  • The Pentagon revealed that seven B-2 bombers executed the longest bombing mission since 2001.

  • US forces dropped six 30,000-pound bunker-busting bombs on Fordow, Iran’s most important enrichment facility.

  • Military planners sent decoy bombers toward the Pacific while the actual strike package headed east, fooling Iran completely.

  • Trump had previously signaled a decision on Iran would come "within two weeks," misdirecting attention from the imminent strike.

  • In response to the bombings, Iran's parliament endorsed closing the Strait of Hormuz, though the final decision rests with the ayatollah.

  • The Strait of Hormuz handles approximately 25 percent of global seaborne oil trade, making disruption a serious economic threat.

  • The Russians warned that several nations are prepared to give Iran nuclear weapons.

  • Vice President JD Vance stated: "We're not at war with Iran. We're at war with Iran's nuclear program."

  • Defense Secretary Hegseth vowed to act "swiftly and decisively" if Iran retaliates.

  • Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) filed a War Powers Resolution challenging Trump's authority to strike without congressional approval.
