🌎 Geopolitics 101: Mossad's Triumph

Also, Trump gives Iran a deadline

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

1. 🇺🇸 President Trump is giving Iran two weeks. On Thursday, the White House announced that Iran would have up to two weeks to conduct diplomacy before President Trump would reach a decision on whether to strike. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff had been conducting negotiations with Iran over the past week, and reports indicated he and Vice President JD Vance were urging Trump to hold off on any attacks. This extended deadline provides more time for Israel to carry out its own strikes, potentially negating US involvement.

2. 🇨🇦 Canada hosted the G7 conference, briefly attended by Trump. The meeting was held between leaders of the United States, Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, the EU, and Japan. Though President Donald Trump departed early due to the Iran-Israel War, the group issued a statement saying that Israel had a right to defend itself while also urging de-escalation. The group did not put out a unified statement on Ukraine, as the Trump administration reportedly wanted the initially strong language in support of Ukraine watered down.

3. 🇻🇦 Pope Leo XIV is increasingly speaking out on AI’s danger to children. The new pope released a statement to an AI conference, commenting that, while it might do good, it has wide potential for harming “intellectual and neurological development.” The pope began his pontificate with a warning of artificial intelligence’s effect on human dignity, and is likely to continue to press the issue going forward. While the pope has no direct power over governments, his influence — as the leader of the largest religious denomination in the world — is vast.

4. 🇬🇧 The UK banned an anti-white South African politician from entering the country. Julius Malema, who has led chants such as “kill the Boer” and “Shoot to kill,” has attracted international attention from the likes of President Trump, who played videos of Malema’s chants during an Oval Office visit with South Africa’s president. The UK determined that Malema’s entry was “non-conducive to the public good.” This comes as the Labour government signals a tougher immigration policy as it flounders in the polls.

“The Iran-Israel war will bring ruin to the United States”

QUICK AND IMPORTANT
  • Canada and India have restored normal diplomatic relations, previously ruptured over accusations that India was assassinating dissidents in Canada.

  • Iran’s government said there “is no room for negotiations with the US until Israeli aggression stops.”

  • The UK took a major step toward legal euthanasia after a bill narrowly passed the House of Commons; it now moves to the upper house, the House of Lords.

  • Japan is hosting coast guard drills in combination with the United States and the Philippines.

How Israel's Mossad revolutionized warfare

WHAT’S HAPPENING

Much attention has been paid to the precision of Israel’s decapitation strike on the Iranian military. These strikes were so precise that missiles were fired directly into the bedrooms of top military officials.

But equally impressive have been the Jewish state’s more clandestine efforts…
