WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

🕊️ Hamas accepted Gaza ceasefire deal. Hamas agreed to a 60-day ceasefire with Israel that includes releasing 10 live hostages and 18 deceased hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. This comes after the largest public demonstrations in Israel since the beginning of the war, with protesters calling for Netanyahu’s government to accept a deal. President Trump recently called for Hamas to be “confronted and destroyed,” possibly influencing Hamas’ acceptance.

🏛️ State Department revoked 6,000+ student visas. The State Department pulled visas from foreign students who broke laws or supported terrorism while in the US. The Trump administration has revoked 40,000 visas this year compared to Biden's 16,000 during the same period, signaling a commitment to protecting Americans from potentially dangerous foreign nationals.

🗳️ Trump vowed to scrap mail-in ballots. President Trump pledged to eliminate mail-in ballots and voting machines through executive action. He called the current system "inaccurate" and prone to ballot-harvesting schemes, claiming America stands alone in using mail-in voting. This move could face legal challenges and significant opposition from Democrats.

🪖 GOP states deploy National Guard to secure DC. Republican-led states, including Ohio, West Virginia, and South Carolina, are sending National Guard troops to Washington, DC, to support Trump's federal law enforcement operations. The presence of state military in Washington signals a new chapter in federal-state cooperation on law enforcement, though DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has called the move “un-American.”
