Democrats Melt Down Over the Shutdown-Ending Deal

NO! Not if they turn around and vote to subsidize the insurance companies. They need to let the so called "ACA" completely die and allow the free market to work. The government must stick to its' constitutional responsibilities and stay out of things it was never created to be involved in.

There were NO winners, only losers. First, the United States of America is not a loser, but the people are, just because of the Leftist Communists' (you call progressives) desire for Power and Control of our Nation! Please don't be naive, these people want the destruction of all that is Good in this Country as they manipulate many to destroy it!

If you call kicking the can down the road good, then it’s done. The American people in general need to get better educated on why government controlling our health system is a really bad idea. Why do people think that $38 Trillion of debt isn’t real money and that growing that number at $1.8 Trillion a year isn’t a problem?

Nobody won, not when we were all held hostage by the left. Very sickening to hear the columnist at New York Fish Wrapper calling for the DEMO's to hold out even thru Thanksgiving. HIS holiday won't suffer- just a subway ride out to Queens to grandma's.

Just like the Affordable Care Act "ACA" has proven to be falsely named because it is not affordable, likewise the Democratic Party have proven themselves to be falsely named because they are totally not democratic, it they were democratic then they would accept the overwhelming mandate that voters gave Trump and his agenda ! the only winners in this shut down are those few leftists whos eyes have been opened to the truth about the democrats and the main stream media that carries their dirty water for them !

Yes. A huge win for Republicans. Media outlets now admittedly satate that the democrats are responsible for the shutdown. Proof that radical socialist democrats are not good for America.

My parents opened a small business in the late 50's that my mother continued until the early 90's after my father died in 1970. The employees were paid a living wage. Many were former veterans or retired skilled craftsman who enjoyed the work without the pressures of their previous employment. The paychecks they received from my parents' business was used to pay their health insurance premiums and to supplement their retirement incomes. None of them worked a 40-hour week since they were paid for piece work as jewelers, engravers, watch or clock repairmen. They did not want a government "hand-out". Health insurance, like food is a personal responsibility and they believed in and talked about personal responsibility. My siblings and I spent time in the store and heard the discussions, I remember them to this day.

The losers were the American people who were affected by the shutdown-for no other reason than pure politics. My hope is that voters on both sides of the aisle recognize the Progressives willingness to shutdown the government for their own political gain over and above their responsibility to the American people is not in their own best interest, our nation's or our allies.

There is no winner in this shutdown. Workers who were fired should remained fired. Workers who didn’t work should not be paid for those days they didn’t work. Congress should not be paid during the shutdown, because they failed to do their job. The losers are the taxpayers & the essentials workers who had to go to work with no pay (not until the government reopens).

The BIG picture? It's not about sides, it's about representing the People. The People don't want the gov't shut down. The People voted for Trump and his mission. F'k sides. This is about The People!

Agreed. The American citizens lost. The subsidies required by the Affordable Care Act only show that democrats are out to fleece citizens. Insurance companies took full advantage. Medical professionals and hospitals had to provide more paperwork. Cost went up and citizens have to pay. Really makes many people angry.

Maybe a new headache for the Republicans as economic issues and medical/healthcare costs will require attention.

No! The GOP led House COULD have been been passing Bill after Bill during the shutdown, but instead they did NOTHING! They weren't even in session. The GOP squandered an excellent opportunity to highlight that They were Accomplishing something while the Senate dems continued to block the CR. The GOP House SHOULD have passed Pres Trump's ENTIRE Agenda (EOs, SAVE Act, FY26 Budget, Health Care Reform, etc.) Instead, the GOP controlled House did NOTHING!

Not in the least bit. Let's see re-hiring all the government workers to continue our over bloated welfare government work force. Not nuking the atrocious socialist healthcare system known as ACA (Obamacare) which hands out health benefits to lazy useless Americans and Illegal Aliens at the expense of the everyday taxpayer. I'm not sure what the Leftist party is exactly crying about and claiming "Trump got everything he wanted".. Again, what did he/we remotely get in reality based on the Facts stated above?
