Florida lawmakers are entering a special session this week to consider a new congressional map unveiled by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) that could net Republicans four additional seats in the House of Representatives in 2026. The proposal comes amid an escalating redistricting war across the country, following Virginia voters' approval of a measure expected to flip several GOP-held seats to Democrats.

DeSantis argues that Florida’s map should reflect the state’s recent population growth and Republican voter advantage. Democrats are warning of political and legal retaliation if the plan moves forward, setting up another high-stakes clash over control of the narrowly divided House.

Florida republicans should absolutely pass a new redistricting plan! I hope it goes through and sticks Hakeem Jeffries "dummymandering" up where he has to sit on it. His comment that he's going to "crush" DeSantis' plan for redistricting. Wouldn't it be nice if he focused on some sort of legislative agenda? Politics... disgusting!

"Should Florida pass the proposed congressional map?" Even though I really do not believe in this gerrymandering stuff, with what Virginia just did very unfairly, then at least DeSantis viewpoints sound logical, unlike the Complete Lies that King OBummer was promoting on the radio and TV ads he did influencing the Virginia voters.

Agreed. In principle I don't like gerrymandering. But since California, Virginia, and others have aggressively gerrymandered in favor of the Democrats, it's almost like red states have to now. Especially since they can't seem to pass sound voter ID laws either.

The districts SHOULD represent what the people of those districts truly want. IF the districts are heavily republican then those voters should be heard according to their views. If those districts ARE as close in numbers as some say, then flipping the seat shouldn't be difficult and the redistricting won't matter.

When the Commies don’t play by the rules Republicans are stupid not to return the favor. Ideally, this kind of stuff is not good for the country, but we are up against Commies & Islamists who will cheat and disregard any law that will limit them from gaining power. We cannot allow the Islamist-Marxist Democrats to turn more states like CA, CO, and WA into hell holes.

Florida should redistrict, just like Texas did, and for the same reason, influx of people from BLUE states, especially So California, to reflect the new surge of Republican voters! These are people that are sick and tired of the Democrats mantra, bigger government, higher taxes, open boarders, defund police, decriminalize the law, and increase homeless (my bad, "the unhoused"), a recipe for disaster!
