House Republicans Prep a Policy Blitz

The GOP Congress is taking up a host of bills as it readies its massive reconciliation package.

_WHAT’S HAPPENING_

House Republicans are currently outlining an ambitious four-week agenda packed with Trump administration priorities.

Over the next three weeks, Congress will debate California’s emissions policies, federal Medicaid funding, police reform, and the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico. They are also forging ahead with the first steps toward passing their sweeping reconciliation bill.

Leadership now plans to bring the reconciliation package — tentatively titled the Renewing the American Dream Act — to the House floor the week of May 19, effectively confirming that President Donald Trump won’t receive the bill before the Memorial Day recess.
