How Trump Could Right the Wrongs Against J6ers
Those who partook in the Capitol riot are hoping to get pardons — but it’s unclear how far Trump will go.
What’s happening: More than 1,500 people were arrested by the Department of Justice for their alleged actions during the January 6, 2021 riot at the US Capitol. Some of them — sometimes referred to as J6ers — are now hoping for a commutation or a full pardon from the incoming president.
The numbers: J6ers have been sentenced to a combined 1,300 years of prison time, and the vast majority were arrested for non-violent offenses. There are currently 200 cases pending.
