Inside the Democrat Coup To Oust Biden

The media’s recent discovery of the president's decline could throw the election into chaos.

The story

The emperor has no clothes.

Or so says the left-wing press. In one of the most dramatic shifts in modern American history, much of the media — which buried its head in the sand and deflected concerns about President Biden’s age for four years — is suddenly publishing a myriad of articles calling for him to step aside.

The press is publishing White House leaks, a stark reversal from its relative silence. The dam broke after last Thursday’s debate between President Biden and former President Trump when post-debate analysis teams from CNN, MSNBC, and elsewhere could not conceal their horror while watching the president’s deteriorated cognitive capacity on full display.

Many on the right were not shocked. Conservative media has covered the president’s decline for years. Now that the president has nowhere left to hide, ordinary Americans are seeing what was concealed from them. And Democrat insiders and the press fear the worst. In just one week, Biden’s world turned upside down; a coup is forming against him within his own party.

Who’s pushing him out

The president's defenders dwindle by the day, and the mutiny in Washington is growing.

Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), the man responsible for Joe Biden’s 2020 primary win, is spearheading the idea of a “mini-primary” to replace him. And Biden’s Ides-of-March is intensifying: his own vice president is being eyed as his possible replacement.

In just seven days, nearly the entirety of the president’s party turned against him, ready to toss him out in favor of the widely-mocked Kamala Harris, who hovered near single-digit support in the 2020 presidential primary.

Democrats are pitching several options for replacing Joe Biden, and the current leader of the pack seems to be Kamala Harris. High-ranking Democrats are warming to the idea of Harris leading the presidential ticket, encouraged by a CNN poll showing her mildly outperforming Biden in a head-to-head against Trump.

While other names have been floated — like Democrat Governors Gretchen Whitmer (MI), Gavin Newsom (CA), and J.B. Pritzker (IL), betting markets predict greater than a 50 percent chance of Biden dropping out and Harris filling the gap.

While Biden hemorrhages support within his party, he is counting on Congress to shore up the rank-and-file. However, House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) asserts that a "very broad swath of the House Democratic caucus ... believes a change in candidacy is necessary.” The shock and horror within the Democrat camp resembles dominos falling in sync and is exacerbated by the media’s former mission of hiding Biden’s failings from the public.

Meanwhile, one of Biden’s greatest strengths as a candidate — his relationship with Democrat megadonors — is rapidly disintegrating. Major donors could raise $100 million to fund alternate candidates.

Some donors threaten to withhold funds if Biden doesn’t step down — like Abigail Disney, a Walt Disney heiress and megadonor. Hollywood powerbrokers, and major players like Netflix Co-founder Reed Hastings and superagent Ari Emanuel, are turning on the president.

Who’s sticking with him

As former loyalists abandon the president, his family remains steadfast. Reports indicate that Biden's family is urging him to stay in the race — a move that has senior Democrats and donors frustrated with how his staff mishandled his debate preparation.

Biden met with his family at Camp David last Sunday to discuss his political future amid mounting pressure from the media and Democrat lawmakers to step aside. The most adamant voices urging Biden to stay in the race are his wife, Jill Biden, and his son Hunter Biden.

Speaking at a rally Wednesday evening, the first lady asserted to a crowd in Traverse City, Michigan, “Because there’s a lot of talk out there, let me repeat what my husband has said plainly and clearly: Joe is the Democratic nominee and he is going to beat Donald Trump, just like he did in 2020.”

While the president’s family is his last wall of defense against the onslaught of calls for him to bow out, he still has a few supporters inside Congress and the press. Some in the press are very loyal: “Biden at 81: Often sharp and focused, but sometimes confused and forgetful.”

The White House press office is working overtime to suppress speculation that Biden will be replaced at the top of the ticket. And Democrat governors like Kathy Hochul (NY), Wes Moore (MD), and Tim Walz (MN) comprise a small group of national leaders who claim to have the president’s back. But this small group of governors, if sincere, is a trifling holdout against growing dissent.

Why it matters

Republicans could not be more overjoyed about the chaos brewing in the Democrat caucus. Former president Trump was recently recorded saying, "I got him out of the [race], and that means we have Kamala. I think she’s gonna be better [as an opponent] … She's so pathetic. She's just so f***ing bad.” Republicans smell blood in the water.

The dam is breaking under President Biden; just weeks from the Democratic National Convention, there’s no time to spare in making a decision. While the media may have intended to protect Biden by not reporting his mental decline, they might have inadvertently caused his downfall by failing to prepare the public for what they witnessed Thursday.

The unprecedented number of hit pieces on the president reveals not only the media’s fears of an imminent Trump victory but also exposes their stunning failures as journalists since January 2021. In a matter of days and weeks, the next chapter of history will be written over Biden’s pivotal decision, and the 2024 election will not be lacking in drama.
