👦 MAHA Commission unveils plan to “Make Our Children Healthy Again.” President Trump’s team released a 130-point MAHA agenda to fight chronic disease in children, shifting focus from Big Pharma and medical interventions to root causes like diet, chemicals, and stress. The Commission is calling for improvements to soil health, restrictions on junk food in SNAP benefits, increased regenerative farming, and more.
💊 RFK Jr. targets Tylenol-autism link. Health Secretary Kennedy is expected to announce that the use of acetaminophen in pregnant women potentially causes autism. Kenvue, which owns Tylenol, saw its stock plummet 14 percent despite the FDA backing Tylenol's safety. Kennedy will also suggest folinic acid as a treatment for autism symptoms, as part of his $50 million Autism Data Science Initiative.
🌭 Americans are turning away from ultra-processed foods. A major study showed that Americans consuming poor diets dominated by ultra-processed foods dropped from 49 percent in 1999 to 37 percent in 2020. CDC data confirmed this decline continued across all age groups from 2017 to 2023, with women, younger adults, Hispanic Americans, and those with higher education leading the shift.
🤝 West Coast governors defy Trump’s CDC. Democratic governors in California, Oregon, and Washington state formed an alliance rejecting federal vaccine guidelines after Trump fired all 17 advisory committee members. The governors called it an “assault on health,” while the Health Department shot back, blasting the governors’ “failed pandemic politics.”
