DOGE Unleashed: Musk Slashes the Federal Government

One has to wonder why so many Democrats are screaming so loudly about eliminating waste! Could it be that these people are fearful of being exposed as unlawful recipients of all this wasteful spending? And to those in congress who insist that these spending cuts should go through congress, they’ve had decades to do something about government spending and failed every single time. If they are so concerned about losing the “power of the purse” they should have exercised better control of the purse strings! Just sayin…

DOGE is the most exciting political development in this boomer's lifetime! Since the '80s, I've been irritated by government waste and stupidity. This is the first move against inefficiency I've ever seen, and I love it!

One has to wonder, what exactly was the United States Digital Service was up to under the Obama and Biden presidencies? I hope we find out.

What DOGE has uncovered at USAID is earth shaking. Wondering how many of the recipients were funneling kickbacks (as donations) back to the democrats.

It would be interesting to see reporting that accurately describes the function of DOGE. Does it just have an advisory role with actions actually taken by Trumps administration? Are departments following the recommendations of their own accord? Or is DOGE really forcing the changes out of an improper use of power as the Democrats and some Republicans keep claiming?

My husband was just diagnosed with Macular Degeneration and will need injections in his eye every one-two months for the rest of his life (he’s 76). The drug, Avastin, was used off-label for years with success for this condition. It was plentiful and inexpensive (about $55/treatment). However, because of new FDA regulations it has become scarce and has been replaced by higher priced medicines ($900-$3200/treatment). There are millions of people with this condition needing monthly injections at a HUGE cost increase that affects the patients’ pockets as well as the insurance companies’ and the governments’ pockets. Elon Musk and RFK Jr need to look into the FDA’s rules and regulations and clean up the mess and waste. This is just one case of mixed-up priorities within one government agency.

Whenever trying to fix something that is wrong but also highly complicated everyone always says: "Follow the Money" For the first time ever a President has tasked a very smart person to do just that. And the democrats are seething from the start, making wild and false claims to stoke fear among the citizens. At issue is the effort to trim the US debt while also draining the swamp. Seems to me that this effort has the swamp creatures in a panic - even threatening to go on a rampage, which makes it seem very likely that the leadership of those creatures have been getting kick-back funds which they see as being in danger of coming to an end.

Don’t stop praying! All hail the King of Heaven and Earth!!

It's about time the government starts treating America like the homeland it is. Middle-class Americans are not poor enough to receive handouts from the government and must be cautious about how they spend. I've always thought that a woman should be in charge of governmental budgeting, because we are normally the ones who do the purchasing for our families and know where cuts need to be made. However, women, like Nancy Pelosi have never had to live a middle-class life. Her mantra appears to be Spend, Spend, SPEND, without studying the bills before the vote. Her famous quote, "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it." speaks volumes on the subject. It may have been a poor choice of words, but shows that Congress has no intention of reading thousands of pages of bills, but will simply pass them on the merits of who is presenting them... and that it how extra "stuff" can be added that simply has not been discussed before the votes.

Milton Friedman summed all this up in an interview where he called for the dismantling of all government cabinet departments except a few. Look him up. He said it better than anyone I’ve heard.

It would be interesting to connect the dots with the richest communities in the nation and their association with USAID and other government departments.

It will be difficult, and will likely require the help of millions of Americans who know better, to keep the truth alive given the amount of fear-mongering and out-right lies being spewed by the Democrats and the Left-wing media. They are working overtime to smear DOGE by any means possible. They are our front-line forces in dismantling the Deep State and we must support them as strongly as we supported President Trump himself. The Left will not go down easily!

About time! With a national debt of over 36 trillion and counting, something has to stop USA path to financial ruin

Does DOGE have authority to cut wasteful spending or just identify it so it can be cut by others ?

Waste elimination recommendations are needed and should be acted upon by the Executive branch of government but what role should the legislative branch have in this effort….. as they legislated the recognition of the specific programs and funding? Who decides where the savings go? Does the Judicial branch have a future role in this? I can remember prior administration wanting to eliminate, combine various departments but needed legislative approval?

The Federal Government should be audited every year and it should be made public as to what they are spending our money on. Clearly this wasteful spending has been happening for decades by both parties and needs to be gotten back under control.
