Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt has emerged as the most talked-about figure in the Los Angeles mayoral race, putting forward a “common sense” campaign focused on quality-of-life issues rather than being overtly partisan. Recent polls show Pratt, a registered Republican who is running as an Independent, jumping to second place in the race, behind the frontrunner, incumbent Mayor Karen Bass (D).
