Congress has voted to eliminate $1.1 billion in federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which supports NPR, PBS, and hundreds of local stations.
The measure, part of a $9 billion rescissions package championed by President Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), passed both chambers along party lines and now awaits the president’s signature.
