San Francisco’s District Attorney Chesa Boudin has been recalled by 60% of voters. The Soros-funded prosecutor's reform efforts led to rising crime in the city. Mayor London Breed will choose his successor.
Boudin is part of the movement of progressive prosecutors pursuing criminal reform—reforming bail, limiting mass incarceration, and focusing on police misconduct. The city saw spiking violent and organized retail crime under Boudin.
Boudin's roots also rest in radical progressivism—his parents were Weather Underground radicals convicted of murder.
Criminal reform in SF: Boudin ignored California's three-strikes law. Because of that, a criminal convicted of robbery and carjacking and awaiting another robbery charge was released. Once released, he committed another robbery and fled the scene in a stolen car. He tragically hit and killed two women. The crime would have been prevented under standard criminal laws.
George Soros’ movement to fund radical district attorneys is not a conspiracy. George Soros and his groups spent $40 million to elect 75 progressive “social justice” prosecutors around the country. The cities with those prosecutors have seen surging crime and plummeting incarceration.
Traditionally, elections for district attorneys were low-key. Soros’ efforts have changed that, funneling millions into some campaigns to push his agenda.
