State Department Cracks Down on Leftist Foreign Influence Groups

The State Department has transmitted a report to Congress alleging that several left-leaning nonprofits, including Code Pink and the People’s Forum, have promoted narratives aligned with the Chinese government. The report on ”Countering Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference” frames the groups as potential vectors in broader Chinese influence operations.

The findings arrive amid intensifying US-China rivalry, with lawmakers already investigating networks linked to tech billionaire Neville Roy Singham, who has financial ties to organizations associated with Code Pink. The report does not announce criminal charges but calls for greater transparency surrounding foreign-linked funding and activist networks operating inside the United States.

While the First Amendment applies, it does not apply to those who speak of insurrection or treason funded by foreign powers.

If these groups love China so much, why are they still living here in the United States making such a case for China, trying to make everyone believe that China an communism is the greatest thing since sliced bread? If China is such a great place to live, why aren’t they there, living happily. Why do they need to go around convincing people that China is so great? Why do they seem to NEED to convince Americans who are perfectly happy here, to live in a communist country? Frankly, I don’t believe that our government should fund any organization that denigrates the United States. These groups seem hypocritical to me.

"RESIST" is code for "overthrow by violence revolution," the Communist approach to establishing a new government. The "NO KINGS" crowd is hoping that the revolutionary tipping point will be crossed and America will go up in flames. Their intent is clearly treasonous, and they have no claim on the First Amendment, which is one of the first things to go if they ever assume power.

It WAS the first thing to go when Biden/Harris assumed power. Which is why I've decided to use my FB account after a 5 year absence. In 2020, I personally witnessed KCRA news 3 (Sacramento, CA) push fake news on a number of occasions. I recorded them, posted my findings, only to have them taken down within HOURS; then I received a warning from the 'administrators' about my 'disruptive content.' SO I walked away from social media. They have the right to their opinion and can demonstrate their disdain via peaceful protest. However, many of these groups have a nefarious agenda and frequently cross the lawful line. It is at that point they need to be reined in and held accountable for their actions. Are there any groups protesting that counter their message? If so where are they and if so they should have the same blanket coverage to allow people to make a decision as to the validity of claims made by them

Should they be protected under the 1st Amendment? If these 'groups' are truly exercising "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances", then they are legal. However, interpreting that once they cross the line from "peaceably" to conducting interference, force, physical destruction, the 1st amendment does not state any of that. Thus I believe that scenario is not a protected constitutional right.

With all due respect, our founding father new full well that, in general, the mass majority of people are dumb as rocks. That's what makes our Republic so successful...we live in a "Government For Dummies" country. They even gave us an out, for times like today...Article V, the Convention Of States. The founders did all they could think of, b/c, well, most people really are dumb as rocks....just look to Minneapolis!

I absolutely agree with you but there was a precedent that is just as antithetical to a Christian nation. Back in 1939 in Madison Square, New York there was a Nazi rally which was a sanctioned event. Though that was before we really knew what Hitler would do and what he had up his sleeve. Nonetheless, it happened and while we may, in hindsight, deny the event it is still history. We need to keep a close eye on these types of groups and especially go after those funding them to stop them from even happening in the first place. The nation must resist all efforts to subvert the populace into thinking either socialism or communistic policies are good. The truth is they are evil and are NOT in the US' best interest

Personally, I don't believe any group pushing another government's ideology in America is protected by the 1st Amendment. That would likely fall on SCOTUS to decide. It becomes a slippery slope when we start to dictate what groups should and should not be protected. Eventually, the demoncrats will take control again and could decide that free speech no longer applies to religious groups, as an example.

While I agree, the courts previously awarded organizations and businesses equal status under the law. Therefore they can be sued the same as an individual.

If they are involved with violence, promoting violence, and supporting violence, then they should be investigated, indicted, and charged with accessory to inciting riots and violence. If they are supported by the CCP, then their funding should be sanctioned.

This is pathetic and a disgrace to our founding principles that any of this would be allowed to go on in the U.S., period.. Just like due process does/should not apply to illegal aliens, Constitutional rights do not apply to treasonous/seditious individuals or groups who undermine the core principles/values this country was built on which makes them (Enemies of the State), end of story. But don't worry, Trumps State Dept. is essentially going to put them on notice, because that'll fix it.. Oh wait, like every other "notice" or "investigation" it want amount to a damn thing because god forbid we hold anyone accountable by the letter of the law. Not only is there no "muscular posture", it's an absolutely weak and pathetic response from Trump and Team. Without ACCOUNTABILITY, nothing else matters as we've seen for years. That point can't be anymore clear than at this moment in time. At some point, you have to ask yourself, is the Admin. complicit with this entire mess??
