A new report further strengthens the idea that Donald Trump’s 2024 victory was driven by an expanded, more diverse political coalition.

This new coalition has allowed the Republican Party to win in ruby-red areas like northwest Texas, but also swing districts in blue New York — just enough to deliver a razor-thin majority for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

With the inclusion of more blue-state Republicans and a strong Democratic minority in the House, the conservative wing of the Republican Party is learning to adjust to the realities of a shifting GOP.
