The Media’s Biden Scapegoat

This week, two journalists — Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson — released a book titled Original Sin, about how the Biden administration covered up the president’s decline.

But to me, the real story isn’t that the administration hid it. Of course they did. We expect an administration like Biden’s to prioritize power above all else. That’s immoral — but unsurprising. It’s interesting to learn how they pulled it off, but that’s not the core story.

The real story is about the media.

They are supposed to challenge the government and serve the people. But they knew, as most Americans did, and hid it, refusing to cover it. And they did it all for power.

The book was written by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson. Now, both outlets are taking victory laps, claiming credit for bravely exposing their ideological allies, the Biden Administration.

But here’s the problem.

Jake Tapper spent years on air avoiding the obvious signs of Biden’s decline. In 2020, he lashed out when Lara Trump mentioned Biden’s “cognitive decline” on air.

In 2024, he said Biden was mentally fine, just maybe not physically. He dismissed the Wall Street Journal’s reporting on Biden’s mental health as “Murdoch” funded “false claims.” And across all his airtime, he never showed the footage we all saw.

Alex Thompson, now hailed as a truth-teller, only began covering Biden’s health in late 2023 — and even then, it started with reports of “irritability.”

Meanwhile, voices on the right had been talking about Biden’s health since 2019. For years, viral videos circulated weekly showing Biden lost on stage, slurring, or being physically guided by his staff.

This was happening for years. And we all saw this.

The liberal media stayed quiet — until polling showed Biden couldn’t win. Then suddenly, they didn’t admit they were wrong, but rather, they weaponized the truth to push Biden out and Kamala Harris in. It wasn’t about journalism. It was about political strategy.

Biden needs to stay? The media lies about his health.

Biden needs to go? The media obsesses about his health issues, on cue.

That’s how the media operate.

That day on the debate stage — June 27, 2024 — when Biden’s mental deterioration was on full display, was tragic for America. The public realized they had been deceived, and not only by the administration, but also by the media.

It was the media’s “original sin.” Just as a priest once sent a goat into the wilderness to atone for the people’s sins, the media is now casting Joe Biden — on his physical deathbed — as the scapegoat, hoping to absolve themselves of their betrayal of the people and repair their reputation.
