_WHAT’S HAPPENING_
President Donald Trump called for Republicans to "nationalize" elections during a podcast appearance Monday with former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino. Trump specifically said Republicans should "take over" voting in at least 15 places, targeting states he claims have "crooked" election procedures.
Critics have said the proposal runs contrary to the Constitution, which assigns election administration to state governments and grants Congress secondary regulatory authority over federal elections. Trump's comments come less than a week after FBI agents raided an elections facility in Fulton County, Georgia, seizing ballots from the 2020 election.
