Trump Causes Friction Calling to “Nationalize” Elections

These are true concerns, alright, but I don't see the US as being able to stop DEMOcrat election fraud. There are no heads rolling in MN fraud exposure yet, either.

I am not sure nationalizing elections is the right idea to pursue. What the Federal government should do is establish guidelines and regulations for Federal elections in all States only. Making sure all ballots are hand-counted and determined to be validly submitted by living U.S. Citizens only, and complete by the end of election day.

There are so many Red Flags concerning Election Integrity in the past 50+ years, being from Illinois, it is time to expose all election fraud. Chicago & Cook County has been the blueprint for corruption in elections (and its politics) that I welcome full transparency, and transformation.

Both. He is raising real concerns that may be nearly impossible to change at this moment. I appreciate Mike Johnson’s comment in support of President Trump’s concerns. Still talking about change is a step toward at least getting some people thinking about it.

Remember the Democrats had their own election bill "For the People Act" (H.R. 1) in 2019 & 2021 which would make it easier for anyone within the US to vote - no ID needed! Should we be concerned about election integrity in certain states, hell yes, i.e. Fulton County, GA! Without doing an amendment to the Constitution, the SAVE Act is the next best thing. Maybe the Federal Govmnt can act as a secondary auditor forcing the States to provide voter rolls matched and tickets of number of votes cast? Whatever it is, the Democrats will fight it.

I worry, what happens when the Democrats happen to win and take over elections? We demonstrated in this prior election that we can win and win big so why change it?

Also, some of our prior statements to Not vote absentee or mail-in caused a reduction in Republican votes. I would suggest we look where mail-in and absentee is occurring and we start a campaign to have more Republicans participate that way? Federal elections are certainly being affected by state level corruption. I am a firm believer in the Constitution, but would like to see some sort of restructuring that gets rid of the state corruption in FEDERAL elections. If states are ok with their state representatives coming from faulty voting practices that's fine. But don't let large populations in places like NY and LA have such sweeping control over the rest of the country. But then, that goes bac to the fact that the federal government was never supposed to have as much control over state issues as hey currently do. The original blueprint given to us by our founders put heavy limitations on the amount of power in DC. We desperately need to return to the original plans.

Election crimes need to have harsh punishments with severe minimum sentences and the courts cannot dismiss them without having a trial.

I certainly understand the concern of taking election regulation away from the states. However, as long as blue states continue to run their own elections, they will continue to be blue states. And there are attempts from left leaning shadow groups, to manipulate elections in red state. There should at least be some standards across the board for national elections.

It's obvious that our Founding Fathers had no idea of the level of dishonesty and fraud that would creep into our election system. We can't have 50 States, each determining their own rules for Federal elections. There must be 1 standard that all States must follow. For State offices only, they can decide for themselves.

The concerns are valid - and it is nearly impossible to refute that fraud is happening. The problem , however, cannot be solved by pushing back against constitutionally ordered elections. The founding document DOES allow for Federal oversight over the state designed systems. That is likely where and how fraud can best be eliminated

Trumps mythology is to always push and ask for more than what you reasonably expect to get, so when the dust settles the end result will bear more fruit.

Trump is raising legitimate concerns but it's also true that a centralized federal election program is unconstitutional. Blue states are the problem so Republicans in those states need to take charge.

I too am from Illinois, you'd have to look far and wide to find a more corrupt state and in particular the city of Chicago. Voter ID is a must as is over site on ballot counting. Mail in voting must stop unless it is a requested absentee ballot.

As long as there are no prosecutions fraudulent states and bad actors have nothing to lose. There has to be regulations and that needs to come from the Feds. If we don't have fair and free elections we don't have a a country. We need to address this now and prosecute traitors and those committing seditious acts of which there are many. Less talk more action!

Too bad Constitution doesn't mean anything to anyone any more. At all the voting places I go to they have both Democrats and Republicans in them. Sometimes they give get Independents help work the polls. Elections are being erode away and a big part of it was election machines, also let's mail everyone a ballot and let one person turn them in.

Our founding fathers established an election structure in the Constitution. They were well aware of tendencies toward abuse and corruption which is why they formed it that way. I have more faith in their wisdom than fear of machinations. Changing elections would require a new amendment.

Can you imagine how that would play out with a Democrat in office?!!!

As Speaker Johnson points out, the President has many reasons for being frustrated. He is solution-driven and he's searching for a workable process. Eliminating the counting of votes after the day of elections will solve a lot of the problems. Again, as Speaker Johnson pointed out, republican candidates who were leading when the election was mysteriously lost the lead when ballots were counted after closure. I wonder why the late ballots are largely votes for democrats. Obviously, voting should be managed by the states, but they shouldn't be allowed to count any vote not posted on election day.

President Trump continually pushes ideas that prompt discussion and consternation, but it also causes Action, which is the result he wants. He pushed for better policing in Chicago and DC, forced discussion of control of Greenland, and is now raising the security and fairness of our elections. He is a fart in a whirlwind.

It's like Greenland. It starts with the fed taking over and hopefully ends with law and order voting.

It would only be agreed upon if Republicans cheated like the democrats…then they would be agreeable to the idea of it. However I hope that does not happen.

Certainly we should all be concerned about election integrity, not just the president. Fair and honest elections at all levels are important or why bother voting. Mail in seems like a process thats two easy to manipulate unless it’s for overseas voting, especially for the military. Voter idea seems reasonable, I remember when it was required. If mail in is used it seems like being postmarked by Election Day should be very simple, but still subject to fraud. Even with a copy of a picture ID doesn’t fix that. Voting in person with a bigger window to vote in certainly makes the process easier.
