The Trump administration is restructuring the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to investigate left-leaning nonprofits suspected of funding violent protests and extremist activity.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who also serves as acting IRS commissioner, confirmed that the agency’s criminal division will take a more active role in probing organizations believed to be financing unrest. The move follows President Donald Trump’s order to have the DOJ investigate George Soros and his dark-money Antifa network.
