Far-left activists and prominent social media figures descended on Havana this weekend as part of the "Nuestra America Convoy," a caravan organized to deliver humanitarian aid and protest US sanctions on Cuba.
The delegation includes socialist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, climate activist Greta Thunberg, former UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, and Rep. Ilhan Omar's (D-MN) daughter Isra Hirsi. Their arrival coincided with an island-wide blackout affecting Cuba's 11 million residents, sparking backlash as some delegates were photographed staying in five-star hotels and riding air-conditioned buses while ordinary Cubans suffered through 20-hour power outages.
