Last month, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced new restrictions for members of the press seeking to maintain access to the Pentagon. This comes after several leaks to the press from high-ranking Pentagon officials.
The result was effectively the end of the War Department’s press corps, after nearly all outlets quit rather than sign, leaving only a handful of news organizations behind.
