Why Tucker Wants to Tank MAGA

Days before Tucker Carlson released his new 10-point manifesto, he hosted a gathering at his home in Maine. The guest list included former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, outgoing Rep. Thomas Massie, and Trump’s former counterterrorism chief Joe Kent.

You remember Kent. He’s a former Bernie Sanders supporter and registered Democrat who resigned from the administration at the beginning of the year. He blames Israel for his first wife's death while he turns out to have been under FBI investigation for leaking classified information, and whose politics shifted hard after a 2023 remarriage to a woman who writes for a pro-Iran, pro-Russia outlet.

Well, now he's back, sitting in the same room as Carlson and Greene, helping shape the next big shift in American politics. Well, according to them.

And don't forget that Greene and Massie didn't quietly drift away from Trump. They spent the past few years fighting him, lost, and then pointed at Israel to blame.

So, the men and women drafting the blueprint for what comes after Trump are, in order: a commentator who ditched the GOP, a congressman Republican voters just fired, a congresswoman who quit before she could be voted out, and a disgruntled Trump staffer.

Here’s the brilliant plan they came up with: America should be fair, sovereign, productive, beautiful, healthy, honest, optimistic, wise, decent, and united.

That's the entire manifesto. 10 buzzwords reminiscent of an American political scene long past. Trump killed this kind of generic, empty politics because he promised real, tangible agenda items: a massive border wall, tariffs on foreign goods, pulling out of NAFTA and the TPP.

Buried inside his “manifesto,” Tucker makes some very specific accusations. He claims Israel pushed the US into the Iran war "through bribery or threat or both." And it attacks Trump's renaming of the Department of Defense to the Department of War as "an assault on decency." That is the same accusation Kent made in March.

MTG says Tucker doesn’t want to run for president. So, why is he doing this? For the past year, Carlson has been playing footsie with the Left, spouting Marxist talking points on economics, and defending Islam at every turn.

And in July, he left the Republican Party outright, saying there's "no chance" he would support it in the midterms.

All of this is happening while the Left's most radical wing is actually winning. Zohran Mamdani, a self-described socialist, has run New York City since January. Capitalists, along with billions of dollars, are fleeing the city and draining it of tax revenue, as rents and the cost of living continue to soar.

DSA-endorsed candidates have piled up dozens of primary wins this cycle, toppling five incumbents in New York alone and unseating longtime Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado. Gallup found two-thirds of Democrats now view socialism positively, up from half in 2010.

When Graham Platner, the Maine Senate candidate who once described himself as a communist, won his primary, Carlson went out of his way to defend him — saying he "appreciated how different his foreign policy views are from everybody else in his party."

Tucker isn’t interested in building out the MAGA program after Trump — he’s seeking to bring leftists and disaffected Trump voters together to punish the political establishment. He is telling millions of Republican voters to abandon the only party standing between the socialist Left and power.

Here's why that matters. A May poll found 43 percent of registered voters are dissatisfied with both major parties. Third parties almost never win in America. They spoil.

Here’s the tough pill to swallow: Carlson doesn't actually need to create any meaningful political change or for a third party to win in 2028 — he only needs to pull enough disaffected Republicans to hand the race to the Democrats, who are backing the Democratic Socialists.
