The Principles Guiding America Abroad

The political and media "elite" treat foreign policy as a subject that can only be understood by so-called foreign policy experts.

But that's not the truth. America's relationship with other countries has a big impact on every American, and it begins with securing the rights of citizens.

Learn what they don’t want you to know: Join Michael Anton, lecturer in politics and research fellow at Hillsdale College, to gain a common-sense understanding of American foreign policy with his course, “American Foreign Policy.”

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

🚙 Ford lost over $1 billion on their Electric Vehicle rollout. In the first three months of 2024, Americans do not seem to have any interest in Ford’s new line of E.V.s, forcing them to slash prices and take major losses. The Biden Administration's bet on Electric Vehicles as the future of the auto industry isn't resonating with the public due to their steep prices and impracticality.

🇷🇺 American intelligence claims Putin did not order the death of Alexei Navalny. Although the imprisoned opposition leader’s death was suspicious, the State Department and CIA do not believe Russian President Vladimir Putin ultimately ordered Navalny’s death. However, a longtime Navalny ally told the Wall Street Journal, who broke the story, that "The idea of Putin being not informed and not approving killing Navalny is ridiculous.”

🧐 The Israelis debunked accusations of mass graves in Gaza. Israel’s Office of the Prime Minister dismissed allegations that the IDF was responsible for a mass grave containing 340 bodies, despite mainstream outlets like CNN running with the narrative. Evidence suggests that Israel had nothing to do with the grave - which was dug by Gazans back in January - and that the death toll is likely exaggerated.

🕊 The U.S. is hopeful about a new ceasefire deal in Gaza. White House national security spokesman John Kirby said that Hamas has “not fully rejected” a new six-week ceasefire deal that would free 40 Israeli hostages. As Western leaders urge for de-escalation in the Gaza war, Israel has indicated nothing but clear intentions to invade Rafah and eliminate Hamas for good.

INSIDE AMERICA

Anti-Israel protests are spreading with the help of malicious actors

What’s happening: Activists have set up so-called encampments at college campuses in the U.S. to protest Israel’s war against Hamas. Nefarious outsiders are campaigning for and, in some cases, funding the spread of these protests nationwide.

Radicalism: Many demonstrators, a mix of students and outsiders, expressed support for foreign terrorist groups. They displayed symbols for Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Others told Jewish students to “go back to Poland” and praised Hamas’s massacre of Israelis on Oct. 7.

  • Anti-West influences: A teacher at Northwestern University gave a speech to fellow protesters, quoting a message he received from the son of a Houthi leader. Communist professor and activist Angela Davis also appeared at the Denver encampment.

  • Terrorism connections: Sami Al-Arian, a Palestinian man in Turkey, posted a picture of his wife at the Columbia encampment. Al-Arian has deep ties to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which is considered more radical than Hamas.

Chinese links: The New York Police Department noticed similarities between encampments and is investigating who might be “behind” them. In recent months, large left-wing charities, including a China-linked nonprofit, funded or organized anti-Israel protests at schools.

Why it matters: The protests paint a picture of a distinctly anti-Western movement — aligned with Marxists, Islamic extremists, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This coalition hopes domestic pressure will influence America’s foreign policy, particularly on Israel.

WHAT WE’RE HEARING
  • Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) is reportedly showing more promise to be Donald Trump’s V.P. pick.

  • Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed that the Chinese are attempting to interfere in the 2024 election.

  • Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein was arrested at an anti-Israel protest at Washington University.

Media Buries the Facts About Ashley Biden’s Diary

Note: This was originally only for premium readers — but many have told us it was important for all to see — so we are removing the paywall for this one.

What happened: A Florida woman was sentenced to a month in prison this week for selling the diary of Ashley Biden, President Joe Biden’s daughter, to right-wing media outlet Project Veritas.

  • The details: The diary reportedly contains pages in which Ashley Biden describes unsettling behavior by her father during her childhood. It references Ashley taking showers with him that were “probably not appropriate” and made her wonder if she was “molested.”

  • The leak: Project Veritas obtained the diary in 2020 but was hesitant to publish it. Later, the conservative outlet National File received a digital copy of the diary from a rebellious Project Veritas employee and released its contents.

Why it matters: Media outlets claim National File’s story is unverified — or they refuse to mention or investigate the allegations — despite significant evidence that excerpts released by National File are authentic.

The evidence: Project Veritas’s screenshot of the first paragraph in its physical copy of the diary matches that of National File’s digital copy posted online. The color of the covers also match — details that suggest the digital copy is authentic, including segments about Joe Biden's alleged behavior.

Collusion: The FBI raided the homes of Project Veritas journalists in 2021 in an attempt to retrieve the diary. The Bureau then leaked information about its investigation to the New York Times, an unusual move that gave the paper ammunition to portray Project Veritas journalists and readers as conspiracy theorists.

  • Conservative unease: In light of the diary thief's sentencing, conservatives suspect that a widespread coverup is at play.
