🚨 John Bolton indicted for mishandling classified documents. Bolton, who served as National Security Advisor in President Trump’s first term, became a major critic of the president’s after he left office. Investigators found reams of files, both physical and digital, from Bolton’s time in the White House, leading to his indictment on 18 counts.
🇷🇺 President Trump held a call with Vladimir Putin. The two leaders spent more than two and a half hours discussing a potential resolution to the Russo-Ukrainian War. They also agreed to hold an in-person meeting in Budapest in the near future.
🦃 Government shutdown might last past Thanksgiving. Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) thinks this will be “the longest shutdown in the history of ever.” This week, Senate Republicans tried to reopen the government for the tenth time, but failed to secure enough Democratic votes, who demand an extension of Obamacare subsidies.
🤖 A new bill would ban AI chatbots for minors. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is introducing the GUARD Act, a piece of legislation aimed at preventing minors from using these bots. The bill comes after Meta was revealed to have allowed their chatbots to have sexual conversations with children.
