_WHAT’S HAPPENING_

Back in March, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to restore “truth and sanity to American history,” tasking Vice President JD Vance with removing "improper ideology" from Smithsonian properties.

Now, the president has ordered a sweeping review of the Smithsonian Institution, blasting it on Truth Social for being "OUT OF CONTROL" and focusing too heavily on negative aspects of American history. The White House’s review targets eight DC museums, which must submit exhibition plans within 30 days and are expected to implement content corrections within 120 days.

Trump says America’s premier museums have gone too “woke” — and while the media attacks him for it, here are six examples that prove his point:

Any wonder museums would reflect the leftist bias of the Entire educational system? History deserves to be told as it WAS, Both the bad and good. America IS the example of good emerging over the bad, eventually.

It’s not just the Smithsonian museums. Many museums are into seeing art and history through the woke lens. LS

Mickey Mouse with black face? "rooted in colonialism and extreme violence." Really? Does that include the violence portrayed in RAP music (not all, off course)? This coming from an iconic museum worldwide...! Have any of the European museums gone woke? Maybe they have, but they're not the Smithsonian, which has long represented the remarkable events that have shaped our country. Thank you, President Trump,!

By the details you provided, it sure seems they've gone off the rails with a WOKE agenda. And it must be ended, and curators should be held accountable!

Absolutely - wokeness is out of control. Sadly our public education system has brainwashed our youth into buying in to radical left ideology. It's going to be a long road back to sanity.

Wokeness in any measurable quantity is too much.

History needs to be presented as raw and unfiltered to people. Slavery is a perfect example of how only one narrative is taught in schools or presented in Museums, there is so much more to it than what is discussed and that has lead to people not understanding the whole history. Museums need to show history thru a neutral lens not a rainbow or rose colored lens. You can not use today's morals to judge the morals and decisions made hundreds of years ago.

Absolutely - Like it or not things were done differently back then. People thought differently back then. We CANNOT go back in time to change it. We must remember it and move forward an learn from it. Trying to hide it just makes things worse.

Wokeness is evident in the Smithsonian Magazine. I've sent letters calling it out to Lonnie Bunch, the Secretary.

Absolutely. Museums should reflect the past through an accurate lens, not via people’s perceived views of what they desire.

It appears to me that whatever our ELECTED President does or plans to do is being met with the most vicious remarks and rhetoric from mostly "dethroned" big mouths. He is keeping the promises he made before we even voted!! These "insurgents" need to get their priorities straight and think of what is best for our country!!

Wokeness has gotten out of hand in every institution and aspect in this country and must be reversed if this country is going to survive as the country it was founded as.

They have certainly derailed from their mission of displaying the truth.

I'd like to comment on the "african- American museum's contention that “hard work,” “individualism,” and “the nuclear family” are aspects of “White culture.” THEY ARE- and not because it is a BAD thing, but because the Black culture has clearly rejected them ALL. To their very great detriment!

It's not just the Smithsonian or just the museums. Wokeness and DEI have crept into our corporations, schools and churches and it must be extracted and common sense applied.

Eliminate all tax payer federal funds that benefit museums, and colleges. This must end!!!!

Agree. even high level art and history museums across the country have emphasized DEI messages with their exhibits. Smithsonian unfortunately has many exhibits labeled with anti-American messages. This is the poison spread by the Demoncrap Party.

We used to love visiting the National Mall, but the museums have been corrupted, twisting history and pushing anti-American nonsense. My wife, a legal immigrant, was so offended she said, “This is not why I came to America.” Earlier this year, D.C. felt unsafe—no longer a place where families can wander freely. I have four small children, and something as simple as finding food or a bathroom has become dangerous. The breaking point came when bums banged on our car windows and grabbed at my daughter. Security had to drag them off hotel property. That’s not the America I served as a Marine to defend. Here in New Jersey, we’re trapped—unable to afford to stay, unable to afford to leave. Families like mine are being crushed while liberals dismantle this country piece by piece, tearing apart everything Americans have built for 249 years. As a Marine veteran, a husband, and a father, I refuse to stay silent while this nation is destroyed.

It is so sad that our country has gone so far “woke” in its arts and culture, news, entertainment, etc. how did we get here?

Yes. Trump is 100% in taking charge of these cultural institutions, since they've been hijacked by woke nutjobs.

The Woke DEI Anti-American agenda has infected every institution of the U.S.. Museums, like the Smithsonian, are just another example of how far they expanded their reach. The beauty is, this all comes down to individuals and groups pushing these radical/putrid ideologies. Remove these parasites by any and all means necessary and you will see how quickly all other aspects of resolving that, which is the The Woke Plague, falls into place. I would like to think that President Trump learned from his mistakes in his first term and that band-aiding issues is not actually the same as resolving issues. We and he learned that very clearly in the past 4 yrs.. You have to remove the head of the Hydra and all it's vile appendages accordingly or we are doomed to suffer the same fate going forward. That's not an opinion, that is actual history as it has played out..

It is so much easier to criticize, reinterpret, destroy and bend history looking through heavily biased lenses....rather than do the "heavy lift" and look at history in terms of the contextual, existing realities and priorities of people who actually lived at that time. Lazy, slovenly, and unprofessional work done by many who say they are committed to preserving our country's amazing history. America is great because we persevered through the light and dark challenges we faced. When we erred. We fixed it. Thus ??..the world swims, runs and flies here to legally immigrate & hopefully stay in the USA and raise their kids here.
