📺 ABC suspends Kimmel after Kirk remarks. ABC indefinitely pulled "Jimmy Kimmel Live" after the host suggested Charlie Kirk’s killer was tied to MAGA. FCC Chair pressured ABC to make the move, saying Kimmel’s remarks reflect a broader media push to spin a false narrative about Kirk’s killer.
🇺🇸 Trump reinstates tougher citizenship test standards. The Trump administration is restoring the 2020 version of the US citizenship test, which President Biden had scrapped. The exam is now expanded from 100 to 128 questions, requiring deeper knowledge of US history and civics.
💸 Fed cut interest rates and signaled more ahead. The Federal Reserve slashed its benchmark rate to between 4 and 4.25 percent, and projected two more cuts this year. Chair Jerome Powell called the move “risk management” as inflation lingers, and comes as Trump has been pressuring the Fed to lower rates for months.
✡️ MIT sued for antisemitic firing. An Israeli postdoc alleged that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology fired him “because he is Jewish and Israeli” after months of harassment. The lawsuit says students and a professor targeted him with slurs, threats, and degrading tasks, while administrators ignored his pleas.
